Any thoughts on Peavy this year? It seems that Ron's projections for him are a pretty big step backwards from last year. He seemed to make some good progress in most areas last year- his BB rate went up a bit, and his K rate did go down a bit, but that was over a much larger sample size from 2002. Take away his month of July, and his ERA and WHIP drop to 3.53 and 1.23. His numbers after the All-Star break are even better....his K/BB was better than 2:1, and his K/9 went up by over 1 strikeout. The HR were a problem, and he walked a few too many, but I wonder if they were so bad to warrant the poor projections for this year. Is there something I am missing? This is a guy who is still young and seemed to make some good growth, especially in the second half.....maybe not a BIG step up this year, but will he really drop back as far as is projected?
