Posted by David Kennedy vs Giles - Good with bounce back potential for Kennedy, but at least 100 points less in OPS than Giles, 5-10 hrs less, less rbis than Giles, and the difference in steals will be minimal as the Angels have more of a 3 run homer team this year than a steal team (see KC). I think that means the incremental steal edge goes to Kennedy (5 steals difference tops). Verdict - I'd take Giles. Better player, better hitter, more consistent. And dumping Giles to get Kennedy would also be a bad move as you wouldn't have gotten anything for him, it's sort of an opportunity cost type of thing. Dumping him outright for Kennedy not only doesn't help you, it sets you back. If you're going to try and pick up Kennedy, at least be patient, put the feelers out and appreciate the value of a $20+ player in Giles and dish him to shore up one of your other weaknesses (like OF if you're looking to pick up Kearns). Kearns - Solid player, but if he's on the wire, there might be better ST upside guys out there. Point being, Kearns is recovering from shoulder surgery (which will be exploited by him getting pitched inside a lot) and he pounds the ball into the ground. He may hit .220 through May. Chances are you can find an even better half of baseball on the wire right now in another player. Let someone else deal with the Kearns headache.

: Hi guys,
: I read the FBF this past Friday & I saw
: the article on Adam Kennedy & was very
: impressed. He is taken in my leaage. Is he
: worth trading for if I have Marcus Giles? I'm
: thinking yes because I feel that Kennedy is
: more poised for a power spike. Also, I just
: traded Moises Alou for Scott Speizio.
: Obviously, I'm out an outfielder. I was
: thinking of picking up Austin Kearns. Good
: move? Thanks.
