Nomo will be on my GAMBLES list next month. He's the perfect guy to talk up his 16-win, 3.09 season as you actively shop him. RON@HQ
Nomo's half season splits already showed that there was a problem after the All Star Break. His ERA went from 2.41 to 3.98, command from 2.1 (k/bb) to 1.5 and his opposition batting average soared by over 60 points. The news of the surgery shoud not have been a surprise.

: How much of a concern is the fact that the
: Dodgers just revealed that Nomo had surgery
: in October to "clean up" his
: rotator cuff and labrum? I know he had some
: trouble with the cuff at the end of 2003. I
: just acquired him in a trade, and now wish I
: had this info first. I guess I am looking at
: it in 2 ways- either he had trouble last year
: and I should be happy he got it all taken
: care of OR that the surgery is just the
: beginning of more problems for him. What
: does everyone think?
