Nomo Concerns?

How much of a concern is the fact that the Dodgers just revealed that Nomo had surgery in October to "clean up" his rotator cuff and labrum? I know he had some trouble with the cuff at the end of 2003. I just acquired him in a trade, and now wish I had this info first. I guess I am looking at it in 2 ways- either he had trouble last year and I should be happy he got it all taken care of OR that the surgery is just the beginning of more problems for him. What does everyone think?
