Posted by Finance Guy OH I would define anomalous as > 1 STD from the mean for star players. I would define a star player as someone whose beginning of year 5x5 value > $27. I would use number of missed games while DLed as the measured value. Ron, is this something you can work up quickly from the data you have on hand? BTW, your commentaries on responsible reporting were tremendously insightful. Obviously, you struggle with those issues all the time. I appreciate your dedication.

I have had a difficult time this year, because so many of my star players have been DLed and DLed for extended periods. Has the 2003 season been an anomaly relative to past years? I've had to do more scrambling with Schilling, Johnson, Oswalt, Vlad, Pedro, etc. DLed. Is it anomalous only for pitching or both hitting and pitching? Am I unlucky or did I mis-assess player risk? How do star players compare to non-star or all players?
