Posted by Mas Fino He's a decent pitcher in a pitchers park, so he should eventually have some value this year. My suggestion is to let someone else take the lumps for about the next month or so, then lowball his owner in a trade. By mid-July he should be 1-3. 12 team NL only? Man, the pickings must be slim on the FA wire. Were you deciding between Jarvis and someone else? Heck, the guy you would drop for Jarvis may actually be worse than what KJ is going to go through. My prediction on his stats over the next 6 starts: If he really gets bombed in those starts, the Padres have SEVERAL pitchers in the minors ready to claim that spot (Howard, Tankersley, Perez, Bynum, etc). --Previous Message--

I took a look at him myself, but I passed. If you just need him for the one game tomorrow, he might have some success. If you need him beyond that, the Padres have an absolutely brutal schedule (including a trip to Coors) coming up that I just don't have the stones to watch him pitch through.
1-3 4.66 ERA 1.672 Ratio
: Is Kevin Jarvis going to contribute this year,
: is he worth a pick-up in a NL 12 team 4x4?
