Posted by Chris How is it possible to distinguish between age-related deterioration and injury? All reports suggest Bagwell's shoulder has healed and is 100%; that may be true, but today's 100% is not equal to pre-injury 100%. Did you notice his throw from first to home on Tuesday night, as Matsui eluded Ensberg's tag at third and raced home? Bagwell might have dones just as well shot-putting it. My thought on Bagwell? I think the shoulder was as good as it was going to get coming out of spring training; it didn't bother him much the first month of the season, but now it's regressing again and interfering with his swing. I'd say WATCH Bagwell to see if he breaks out of the slump, but I SELL (perhaps HOLD in a keeper league) at first mention of an MRI. Your thoughts?

"Bagwell's hot start this season masked the inevitable deterioration of skills at this age."
