The following may be of interest:-
James Hindsley Bromley born in Greenwick on October 19th 1820. His father was also James Hindsley and his Mother Elizabeth. Sailed to NZ and the Auckland Islands in 1847/49.
He married Charlotte Pringle Bowers at the Royal Hotel, Dunedin, 28th November 1850.
Charlotte, was born in Edinburgh, 3 August 1832.
She sailed to NZ on "The Larkins" leaving London on 6th June 1849. She was accommpanied by her Mother,Sister Julia, and brother Hugh.
Charlotte and James were part of the Auckland Islands settlement and had several children:-
James Hindsley 9th MArch 1852 (Auckland Islands)
Isabella 1854 (Porirua)
Susan Sexton 1855 (Porirua)
John Robertson 1857 (Porirua)
Charlotte Pringle 1863
Christina 1868
James born in the Auckland Islands married Emma Jane Lewis (Born Edinborough)
Thier son James Hindsley was born at Scotts Ferry on27th August 1879. He married Elily Leat (born Sanson NZ)
Emily's parents were from Dorset and sailed to NZ on the Uranui in 1876.
James and Emily were my Grandparents.
