I am looking for information on John Frederick William Cutler
known as Fred, d abt 1931 Toronto
m Apr 20 1892 to Clara Lucina Smith d abt 1924 Burke's Falls
son Robert Frederick Cutler aka Fred
dau Emily Albertine /Cutler/ b 1897 Pevensey m Albert Ernest
Clarke d 1972 Amherstburg (my wife's great-grandparents)
It was thought that the Cutler, Smith and Clarke parents were all
from England and so far I have a dead end as far as the ancestors
are concerned.
Frederick William Cutler's parents unknown, both born in England,
died in Toronto. Family recalls John Frederick was a mason, who
built the churches in Burk's Falls, where granddaughter Dorothy
Clarke was born. Emily Albertine Cutler's birth certificate
B062086 registered Feb 13, 1897 shows her father's occupation as
'painter'. Fred was an Orangeman, who faithfully walked in
parades on July 12th each year. Fred lived for about a year with
Emily and her family in Amherstburg (about 1929/30), but when his
health deteriorated, he returned to Toronto to live with son Fred
& Marie until his death in 1931.

I was very pleased to have your kind letter it seemed such a long
time since I heard from you when I wrote to Aunt Mary I asked her
to send me your address but I expect she forgot it. however at
last I have heard from you please dont keep silent so long again.
I do so wish I could see you and have a long talk with you I
should begin Monday morning and keep on till Saturday night - I
hope dear Fred if you start business for yourself you will be
successful. What are you thinking of doing - trade about here is
very bad. Nothing moving - we have not had it very cold this
winter but just now we are getting hail storms in the day and
frost at night. I hope this will find you all well. Fancy your
little boy & girl going to school. I should dearly love to have
all your pictures. I have one of yourself and little Freddy but
your wife and little Emily I have never had. I am sorry to tell
you Uncle George lost his wife. She died on the second of
December last year. She was a great sufferer it was a blessing
when the end came. I was with her a great deal and I alone saw
her die. Uncle had gone to lie down. I called him but before he
got in the room she was gone. Since then he has given up his
home and gone to live with his son Alfred but he is very
unsettled, so if you write to him you had better address here, as
I see him every week. I expect he will eventualy go to live with
his daughter but at present she is living at Winchmore Hill in
Middlesex and they think of making a change before very long - I
beleive they, that is the three boys and Mary Ann all offered him
a home but he seems to prefer going with her and I know she would
do her best for him.
I heard from Aunt Mary last week they were fairly well but she
can not write but such a little as her eyes are so bad she said
John had been to see them. do you ever see their Jack, Will or
Warnett (Marnett?). they never write to me I think they ought to
sometimes but I guess if there Mother was sick they wouldnt let
me know.
I never hear from Annie but I suppose that is really my fault for
she wrote and told me she had joined the Salvation Army and I
never answered her letter she was in Michigan there.
I am going to ask if you will kindly send me a paper so that I
can see a little about the part you are in and if you would care
to have a London or a Sussex paper please tell me when you write
and I will send you one I think I must close hoping to hear from
you again soon Kind love to you all Kisses for the dear
children. I remain your ever loving Cousin Pollie Parker"
