Alexander Ross was christened at Williams, Middlesex, Ontario, 17th October, 1844, possibly the son of Hugh and Christian Ross. He joined the 93rd Highlanders (who were stationed in the vicinity in Ontario, at the time if his birth) when he became of age. He served with them as a Drummer Boy during the Indian Mutiny in 1857. Have so far been unable to locate his place or date of birth. It could possibly be in New York State or nearby. Any help would be very much appreciated - even to confirm his parentage. Thank you.
