Claudia, I know that my great grandfather was named Richard Coultis and his father was a William Henry Coultis. I think William emigrated from York in England and settled down in Canada in a small town called Exeter. However, I recall my father mentioning that he had distant relatives in Kansas and Indiana from brothers and sisters of Richard. I believe he had about 10 of them so I'm not sure if there is a connection. I'll ask my father for details. My brother was contacted by a distant relative in Canada who was putting together a geneological chart for the Coultis family across Canada and the US. Let me know if you get this posting and I can see what else I can dig up for you.
