Posted by C.L. Wolff Martha Mahoney had a sister, Mary Mahoney b 1818(?) who also came to Canada, or so goes the family story. She is said to be an ancestor of General William Joseph "Wild Bill" Donovan, b 01-01-1883 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY, USA d 02-08-1959, buried at Aringotn National Cem. He was director of the OSS during WWII. Catholic, Republican. He was admitted to the NY (?) bar in 1907. His parents were Anna Lannon (Lennon?) and Timothy P. Donovan. Other children were Timothy, an MD, Vincent a Catholic priest, and a sister, Loretta. "Wild Bill" married Ruth Rumsey (Ramsey?). Two children- David m Mary Grandin and Patricia, killed in a car wreck, spouse and children unknown.

Robert Joseph Fowler b 1810(?) in Liverpool, England m Martha (Mattie) Mahoney b 1815 (?) in Skibereen, Cork County, Ireland. We know they went to Canada as one of their children Robert Joseph Fowler was born in Fort Erie, Ontario 06-02-1846 d 1908 in Selma, Dallas County, Alabama USA. Other children may have been Ella, Mattie, Mae, and Albert. Robert Joseph married (Sept. 27, 1870) Alabama Cornelia Cook b 1851 in Lowndes County, Alabama, USA d 1806 in Selma, Alabama. Parents of Alabama Cornelia Cook were Francis Marion Cook, native Welshman, and Ella Louise Matthos. They had another child, Marion Francis Cook. Children of Alabama Cornelia Cook and Robert Joseph Fowler were Ella Louise Fowler b 12-09-1871, Albert Joseph Fowler b 11-26-1873, and Robert Joseph Fowler, Jr. b 10-12-1875, d 02-13-1948. Other children who died while quite young were Alice Francis Fowler, Joseph John Fowler, Lawrence Matthos Fowler, Francis Marion Cook Fowler.
