William, Benjamin, and Mary Coultis are living with three different "foster" families
as orphans on 1851 Census of Norfolk,
Houghton Twsp. Who is the birth Mother and
Father of this family? William and Benjamin
emigrated to Kansas, married, and raised
families. William Henry Coultis is my great
grandfather. The names are mispelled on this census as "Coultous" and "Coulter". Are they
related to the George, Robert, and William
Coultis found on the 1871 Ontario Census
for Essex and Middlesex East District?
I will be grateful for any information to
solve this mystery.
