Dear Amy, As a child psyche nurse I thought your show did justice in representing the problems we have with looking after children who come from broken homes, kids who have been abused, and kids who have behavior problems. I often feel frustrated by seeing on a daily basis the lack of support that is offered for these children and adolescents. Your show gave me comfort because Amy and Maxine represented these children and gave hope that maybe some day politicians will get the point and refocus their effort to help support these kids. I've cared for clients that have been abused, troubled, and who have been pawns in a bitter divorce. Some of these clients have been killed or committed suicide because of the lack of DHS or DCF support. It is not the social workers fault because their hands are tied all too often. It ia the fault of the system. Amy, you portrayed a judge who cared. You and your character as well as Tyne Daly (Maxine) helped get a message across to people that something needs to be done. You gave us hope and for that I thank you. I have written CBS and expressed my disappointment over the fact that they discontinued the show. I just want you to know that you did make a difference. Also you are an awesome actress. God bless you Amy. Take care....Chuck.
