Amy: I recently became a 20 year breast cancer
survivor. At the time of diagnosis, I was 33 yo
with two children under 3. I was given a 50/50
chance of living 5 years. I have had both breasts removed, chemo, radiation, been
reconstructed twice and had two more children. Thank you for your recent episode showing the judge with a breast lump. You did a wonderful job of depicting the fear that exists during that time, and how it completely overtakes you. Tying in the necessity of seeing the warning signs of all your problems early and acting on it was supurb. Please follow through with the judge creating new "health habits" by following the doctor's recommendations for follow up in later episodes. She really does need to see someone besides a dentist once in a while.
Someone she can create a rapport with. I have seen many women die of the mentality that "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" and breast cancer is one desease that has a 98% chance of cure if caught early. I work daily at public awareness on this issue. If you ever need any experinced advice or materials on the subject of breast cancer, don't hesitate to ask. I would
be more than willing to help anyone in this area.
Take care and thank you for offering a show I
can sit down with my four girls and watch together. Wendy Azevedo
