:Wow. you're the first person I've ever heard refer to Black Irish other than my Mother. She referred to my Grandfather as Black Irish. He had Black hair, very dark eyes and olive complexion. Pretty cool to really hear it explained. Only two people in the family followed that coloring the rest of us carried the red hair, blue eyes and freckled skin of the other Irish. But, Irish nonetheless.
