reinforcment rings

Hello, I recently purchased a 6ply 24" keller shell. I didn't realize how thin this shell was until i unboxed it. Do 6 ply maple bass drum shells need reinforcment rings? If so do you offer any. Also tonally will the thinner ply sound deeper or brighter? Thanks, Dustin
