Nice idea for a conversation, Its really debatable for the idea of the throw off. I've been play drums for nine years now and have only turned the snare off while goofing around or to keep the snare from buzzing while playing bass. I don't really know the point of the throw off, but would like to know. Maybe what I've done to keep it from buzzing is why its their.
