That's a GREAT detector! Honestly, I can't remember if the MXT PRO has a 'tone roll' or causes a blip when going over the Pull-Tab or not. Normally there is a bit of a 'Blip' and a sound that is not as 'solid' as that of a Gold Ring (or Silver Ring for that matter). Some 'bent' tabs can 'really' sound like a 'solid' tone (a ring) and those are the ones I consistently dig up... Best thing to do is keep a bunch of different pull tabs and a Gold Ring and put them in the ground about a two feet apart. 'Test Gardens' are extremely helpful...
As Peggy Said, you really have to dig "A LOT" of them before you actually find GOLD. Most people who lose a Gold ring will almost 'certainly' come back and look 'very hard' for it (and usually bring friends), but Silver Jewelry is a different story and that's why you'll find it more often than Gold. Due to the Price of Gold, Silver will be even more common than it is now... Regardless, Dig those TABS and Ye Shall find the GOLD!
