A prospector is an older model, and very bulky/heavy to use. As a new user, You would be better off to go with digital model. Even one of the basic radio shack/Canadian Tire $89.00 specials is going to be an easier machine to use. The technology surge from the last decade has made an impact in metal detectors too.
