http://www.sweetdreamsdetectors.ca In my OPINION, for prospecting, go with the Scorpion. Don't get me wrong I like the Vaquero, but of all the reviews written about it there are none specifically about using it for prospecting. The Scorpion does have some not so good reviews, but I believe that is because it is a multi purpose machine, not a one knob, turn on and go type. Some people will not read the manual and just go out and use it. One nice feature of the Scorpion is the no-motion mode is very handy for ore sampling.
I happen to have both a scorpion and a vaquero in stock and probably the best price you can find anywhere. Scorpion 575.00 (no tax) search the web for sweet dreams detectors.
Another option is to find a used gold bug, but that is a quite a bit of money for no warranty, your choice of course. If in the end you do decide on a Vaquero, you will probably be happy with it. Remember this though, Tesoro made the Lobo for that purpose.
maybe some help, maybe not.
