Fred; just saw your post...I can't help you as far as what,where,why...I'm going in Feb as well 8-15th. Thought it would be fun to do even if it's just an excuse to be on the beach. I'd be careful of the cops in some situations because it's sometimes illegal on public beaches in Texas.Not sure about Mexico though. The fine for that would be $7000 and loss of a detector(confiscated it). Please let me know if you find out the legalities etc and I can let you know if my research finds anything.
