Got permission to hunt private property on sunday near Hartel Alberta. The first three hours I found nothing but chunks of metal. I was giving up and heading back to my car when I came to a small clearing between the trees that must have been a play area. First out of the ground was a 1952 penny, then a 1913 wheatie, then a 1949 dime, then a few more pennies and then two silver US dimes 1949 and 1954. Then the owner came along and I showed him what I had found. I told him to pick any of the coins I had found so far. He picked the 1949 Canadian dime, maybe it was the year he was born, still it was worth it for me cause I had been triing to get on his land for years. About five minutes after he left I started to find silver quarters. Two 1941s and a 1953 very close together and a bunch more pennies and two more canadian silver dimes. All toll I found 5 silver dimes and three silver quarters, 14 pennies mostly from the 40s and 50s and a religious medallion with a couple of bible quotes on it, and a very nice toy derringer gun with red plastic grips. What started out as a pretty bad day ended up very nice. Eight silver coins in one day is a hell of a good day. I will try and figure out how to post a picture. Thanks and HH
