Old train station site

I am going to try and detect where are old train station is here in coaldale alberta.I am hoping to find some old coins.Any advice on coil size or type. I have a whites spectrum,I have the stock 8 inch I think thtats the size(open face style with hole in middle),a 11" hothead coil(dont like) and a small 4" coil.I am expecting to find alot of iron fillings and such there. Also any advice on a program to use for the spectrum?
