White's spectrum mono with regular headphones or is my jack broke?

Im so new,im not sure if the detector only produces a mono signal(one side of regular headphones) or should it work on both sides??
It is a older whites eagle spectrum.Any help be real nice!I could easily fix a broken headphone jack.
