I met an old fella last winter that wrote a book called "History written with a piece of chalk" He spent 5 years researching every one room school in Alberta and put it all in a book. The best part is he included the exact land description for every site. Its a huge book, at least 2" thick, has over 500 one room schools listed and it comes with a big fold out map. I spent almost 3 hours at his house, he is a really interesting man.

That was posted by Kevin on the Baron forum about a year ago. If you can contact him he can tell you the guy's name and maybe where to get a copy of the book. His email is treasurebaron@gmail.com but since he changed jobs a few months ago he has only posted a couple of times on the forums.
