I bought them both from a fellow who used them to find gold in streams in BC, they were in real good shape and the price was right, paid $180 cash total for the two of them. So far my son hasn't had a problem swinging, although we have never tried another so don't know how much we are missing out on with a lighter model of detector. There are some lake beaches around where we live that folks use in the summer, just haven't done any water stuff yet.
