You would easily wait two months here in NH to see a specialist--with insurance. Without it you wouldn't be seeing anyone unless you want to mortgage your home. I do know you do better in Ireland with private insurance. But the public system alone can look a lot like our system with insurance in the US. Or, as a gentleman in Belfast once said to me when I asked "How much do I owe you (for medical care)?" "Ah, lassie, you're not in the US anymore. We take care of our people here."
I have Medicare which is useless outside of the US--and excellent within it--so I'll be looking into Irish private insurance.
