Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how a person can stay in Ireland for 6 months.
I'm a Canadian living in Ireland with my Irish born husband. I'd love to try and get my mother (living in Canada) here for a 6mos visit to spend with her new grandchild. I've checked and as a visitor you're only permitted to stay for a maximum of 90 days.
I've contacted the Irish Embassy in Ottawa and have been told repeatedly that there is absolutely no way that she can stay here for more than 90 days.
I've looked into work visas (which would be next to impossible to arrange for her). There's also the working holiday visa to Ireland but you have to be between 18-35 to qualify.
If anyone has been in this situation before, please can you let me know.
