John, if you have a hard time finding employment than don't forget that you have EU citizenship and can work anywhere in the EU. So if you can't find a job in the long/short term then maybe try to find a UK/Spain/Netherlands, etc. job till employment gets better in Ireland.
You could still be close to Ireland and be on a great adventure.
