Another option - since IKEA has opened in Dublin we have successfully used the Enterprise Rent-A-Car service (www.enterprise.ie) to hire a transit van and ship IKEA furniture from IKEA to Galway.
They have an office located in IKEA and others all over the country. If you can pick the van up and deliver it to one of the offices in less than 4 hours then the rate is discounted. We took the 24 hour option which cost us 90 Euro (including insurance)
