De facto relationships for the purposes of residency have to provide lots of proof that the relationship has been essentially a marriage for 4 years or longer. Proof includes shared rent/utility receipts with both your names; shared bank accounts; kids, etc.
Just starting a relationship counts toward nothing with nobody when it comes toward legal qualifications for residency in a foreign nation.
Even with a marriage to an Irish citizen, you can be denied permission to live in Ireland if the authorities think it's a sham marriage to get around legal restrictions or if your Irish spouse does not have the funds to support you.
