Even the low end jobs are in very, very short supply. Anyone who has a job is hanging onto it and businesses are still shedding workers.
You might be interested in http://www.wwoof.org/ which is an organisation that connects small farmers with workers. You work for room and board and get to live with an Irish farm family. Depending on the family and farm, this can be great - or not.
