Hi all, I posted a few months back, I'm an American waiting to get my citizenship by decent from the Chicago consulate. I expect to receive citizenship by the end of this month, then I plan to fly out there at the end of August. I'll most likely be moving to Galway. I have a few miscellaneous questions.
-What job sites can people point me to for jobs in Ireland? I have experience in the media/creative field (experience as a video editor, videographer, social media specialist, journalist). I'm familiar with the american and multinational job sites, but are there any Irish ones I should be aware of?
-Extending further from the last question, what bars, coffee shops, bookstores etc do a lot of hiring in Galway? I've been planning this move for a while and I have some money tucked away for it, but I'll also need to get an income flow fairly quickly once I arrive. Should I look for jobs in the tourism industry? Any advice on where to look to quickly pick up a job would be appreciated.
-What apartment search websites are good? Craigslist in Ireland is basically defunct for apartment searches. I've found daft.ie which is very helpful. Are there others? I particularly want to look for an apartment sharing/subleasing situation.
-My plan right now is to check into a hostel for a few days/a week or so while I find an apartment to live in, so i'd like to get as much legwork done as possible before departing.
