Landlords, esp agents, will generally want:
1. current work reference (a letter saying you have job - if you make a decent salary I recommend having your employer put it on your letter)
2. Previous landlord reference
3. Bank reference
4. Security deposit (1 month) plus 1st month's rent
Having 1-3 with you when you view an apartment will make you more competitive to rent the apartment.

: Thanks for that bit, but what are ESB and PPS
: numbers allegedly required? Is there a
: lengthy time frame in securing them.?

: Apartment rental is not subject to any sort
: of
: government paperwork. So, you don't have to
: supply any documentation other than your
: Euros to landlords.
:
: But, you are indeed subject to residency and
: visa requirements. You deal with this
: through the government and not apartment
: owners.
:
: If you sign a 6 month lease and the state
: tosses you out after 3 months, tough, and
: you still owe the landlord and will probably
: lose your deposit.

: Are there are there any permits required for
: long-term apartment rental in Ireland by
: non-Irish. And if so, can they be acquired
: quickly or is there a lengthy application
: process. Thanks.
