House exchanges such as Jeffery sent are for a limited time. Basically, they're a way to have a cheap vacation. You exchange your house for someone else's and all accommodation costs are avoided.
It's also a great way to try out a city. Live in dublin for a month and you might find you hate it.
But, there are drawbacks. The biggest one is that you get a nightmare family moving into your house. Remember that it's an exchange - tit for tat. There are plenty of stories out there about tens of thousands in damage done by some folks. It could turn into a very expensive vacation indeed.
There are various protections, such as reviews by other exchangers of the potential exchangee. But, really bad stuff has happened to some even though the huge, vast majority have a lovely exhcange experience.
