Our youngest is 21 now and when she was born in the states things were more relaxed on the enforcement side, but there was still plenty of red tape. That's what we pay these guys for.
Wait till after the birth and then register your new child after you're back home and have caught up on your sleep and have time again. Since that will happen only by 2027, you'll have to make the time in this case.
As was pointed out, this is a straight-forward, standard procedure when the child is under 3 months of age. After that, it goes through different procedures and can take ages for the paperwork to process - till 2027 approximately.
Just make sure you have the proper marriage certs, birth certs and assorted paperwork in hand, all copies certified, and it should go easily. You can't register an unborn child, since no one gives you a bit of official paper - the birth cert - until then.
And congratulations.
