I'm sure Jeffery meant "size" of engine. This is one of those perennial questions and everyone, but everyone that I've talked to about it thinks it's a bad idea. Mechanics, normal drivers...

You can pick up half decent used cars from dealers with 6 month warranties and that have passed their car test for 2,500 Euro or thereabouts. Half that if you buy from someone private.
Yes, on top of everything else, it will have to pass a rigorous car test. If it fails, then you can't drive the car even after all the expense. For this reason alone, you should abandon the idea.
