Both myself and my husband are aircraft mechanics. I am an Irish citizen and worked for an aircraft maintenance company in Ireland for eight years before moving to the states. We had planned on moving back next year, but unfortunately after the SR Technics announcement, we are holding off. I was planning on going back to the same company, but I imagine any openings they may have had are filled by now. Not a good time to look for work! Maybe hold off for a while if you can.
As for his qualifications, if he wants to work for a JAR 145 company, his A&P license will already be recognised, don't need to do anything just interview. For a JAR 135 job however, he will have to go through several classes and exams to get the EASA Part 66 B1/B2 License. The A&P License is worth absolutely nothing toward these exams either unfortunately. Good luck, take the time to research thoroughly.

: Considering that SR Technics is putting 1100

: not sure where you would find a job to be

: Hello all! My husband and I have been
: wanting
: to move to Ireland for a couple of years.
: We've been applying him to jobs in the area
: but seems like no one wants to sponsor a
: work visa. My husband is currently a
: certified aircraft mechanic in the US. Can
: anyone tell me what he would have to do to
: get certified there? Would he be able to
: test out? Or can you tell me what is
: required? Also, does anyone know of any
: airlines or restoration places that would
: sponsor a work visa? Thanks for the help!!
