Aircraft Mechanics in Ireland?

Hello all! My husband and I have been wanting to move to Ireland for a couple of years. We've been applying him to jobs in the area but seems like no one wants to sponsor a work visa. My husband is currently a certified aircraft mechanic in the US. Can anyone tell me what he would have to do to get certified there? Would he be able to test out? Or can you tell me what is required? Also, does anyone know of any airlines or restoration places that would sponsor a work visa? Thanks for the help!!
