SR Technics is major national goof up. Courtesy of the same government that can't make any correct decisions.
As I understand it, and I haven't followed it very closely, the aircraft maintenance business was viable. But, the foreign holding company, for reasons of its own, decided to get out of the market.
They didn't go to the workers to renegotiate wages or change work practices. They weren't interested. They just wanted out.
A management buyout needed some government help, but unless they call themselves SR Technics BANK, the government doesn't care. They jettison everyone and everything except the banks - even a minor loser and criminally fraudulent affair like Irish Nationwide BANK has been declared a systemically important national asset.
When Ireland loses this very viable business, it will be gone for good. The key to such a business is the apprentice on-the-job training that goes on.
With their typical blinders, these hopeless losers who are running us into the ground sacrificed SR Technics and generations to come of high tech, high paid workers. Built up over 3 generations, this government has wrecked it in very short order.
The irony, of course, is that it will cost more to have the workers on the dole than lending the company money to get over the hump.
Maybe I'm not understanding things? But, for now, it looks to me like this government has killed a MAJOR, MAJOR industry in this nation.
This is the same government that forced Aer Lingus to sell off its maintenance division to SR Technics in the first place.

:
: It is a 3 bed semi detached house just off
: the Clonroad about 150 meters from Cusack

: Fergus Manor. It can be checked out at

: It's on the market for about 8 weeks now but
: we are afraid that if we dont sell soon we
: will miss out on a great house out the
: country that we are trying to buy. We have
: had about 10 viewings and one offer but the
: chap who made the offer is no longer
: interested. We think he is waiting to see if
: prices drop more.
:
: Regards
