Your daughter's passport could take many more months to arrive. The average has been about 7 or 8 months with some faster and others up to 13 months.
So, unless you're prepared to wait another year, you might as well bite the bullet.
Also, social security checks can be sent to an overseas address or account. There are tens of millions of expats living everywhere and they're quite used to dealing with this.
Your income once resident in Ireland, from whereever and whatever source, is taxable in Ireland. The country of residence takes its share, then the US taxman grants you a credit for what the Irish taxman has taken. If you still owe US taxes above and beyond what the Irish government has taken, then the USA will collect that bit on top.
That's unlikely, since you automatically get an overseas deduction of I think 85,000 euro per person before you owe anything in the US. And the way Irish taxes are going, it's a safe bet that you'll be fully shaved before the IRS gets a look-in.
