You just gotta consider all the Dell/Alienware/Other unemployed LAN admins out there in Ireland right now. Fighting for the few networking jobs is gonna be hard for people already living and working there. People trying to break into the market from abroad are gonna be really hurting. As it is I'm getting married in June and then staying working in the states for the better part of the next year until there's a bit more available work wise in Ireland.

: And on that note, how existent are tech jobs
: in Galway these days?
:
: Specifically, higher end networking stuff?
: Router/Switch/Firewall
:
: On the job sites, Dublin still looks
: promising but not so much Galway.

: Although jobs in Ballinasloe are pretty much
: nonexistent. So you will be traveling to
: Athlone or Galway to work.

:
: There's always Gort. Barna or Spiddal (if
: you want more rural but still only about 20
: minutes from Galway City). But if you're
: choices were between Ballinsloe and Tuam,
: I'd go with Ballinsloe. It's a good midway
: point between Galway and Athlone (gives you
: more employment options).

: I like Ballinasloe but Tuam is nice. It
: really depends on what sort of money you
: want to spend on housing.

: Hello:
:
: As we're making preparations to move to
: Ireland, we're planning to live in County
: Galway. We've been looking at Tuam but I was
: wondering if any one could suggest any other
: towns that might be worth looking at as
: well. We're a family of 4 my oldest is 12
: and we'd like to stay within 30mins of
: Galway City. Thanks for any suggestions!
