It's the British citizenship that counts. As the immediate family of an EU citizen, you should be fine.
All the information and application forms that you need are located at the immigration service website where they discuss dependents of EEA citizens. The EEA is the EU plus Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway.
Go to http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/EU%20Treaty%20Rights
This should help.

: Hi there,
:
: I first wanted to say how useful your site
: has been in my research - thank you!
:
: We are wanting to move from South Africa to
: Co Cork sometime in the next few months. I
: have a british passport, my husband & 2
: small children have South African passports.
: My husband telecommutes for a company in the
: UK & it is, in this unstable time, a
: stable position.
:
: My question is this, what do we need to
: apply for when we get here, we don't need
: visas to arrive, but I know that we have to
: go see the Garda within 7 days to ask if we
: can stay permanently. We will be apying tax
: in Ireland. Will they let us stay? And do
: you know what documentation we require?
:
: If anyone can help, it would be most
: appreciated!
:
: Kind regards
: Clair
