We have a family friend from Chile who we agreed to host for the duration of his summer holidays: mid-December to mid-March. Unfortunately, he had to transit through LHR, who gave him a REALLY hard time and only gave him a one month visa. (Technically he only needed a one DAY visa since he was merely in transit to Ireland, but I don't run UK immigration so there you have it.) I believe the issue was lack of sufficient funds.
On entry to Ireland, he was also given a 30 day leave to remain. We would very much like for him to be able to stay for the full 90 days. Can anyone tell me what the procedure for this is? I'm not sure where to go or what to do here for the best. Thank you!
