Go to http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP07000168 for the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service page about permission to remain for non-EU/EEA nationals. But, Deb sums it up admirably.
Worry not. You have a legal right to be here as the spouse of an Irish citizen. Every year tens of thousands of people in your position are given permission to reside in Ireland. It's absolutely run of the mill standard procedure.
Though, I have to admit, it would give the Irish wedding industry a massive boost to require all weddings to take place here. Then, if they also mandate that all Irish citizens throughout the world buy the cars here and their vegetables, the recession will be so over!
