Irish twenty somethings do about the same as their European and American contempories. Some drift around for a few years, some work as waiters and waitresses, some are working as doctors and nurses. The full gamut.
The Irish disco/entertainment/pub scene is as lively as can be found on the planet. Most are fixated on their computers and the web.
What you need is to check out some social site http://ie.myspace.com/ and see what's the general buzz.
Facebook is ever more popular with the twenty-thirty crowd and once you sign up you can spend your time in Irish related areas. http://www.facebook.com/
