Each venture into places they wouldn't normally go because they would consider themselves too much of an outsider. Naturally the people they meet have no idea. The white guy just had make-up and a few prosthetics - but the black guy had to wear an entire face mask, wig and gloves. There are one or two scenes where you see people totally blown away as he peels off bits of the mask. In the second programme two women change places. The younger of the two is a very attractive Asian student, who becomes (thanks to a mask, wig, and gloves) a white women. She does various things (door to door canvasing, working in a cafe) in both identities to see if she feels any different being in the minority or majority. Unfortunately there's no big unmasking scene where she reveals her true identity in public. Although there are lots of clips of her mid-transformation. Okay - so this isn't quite Batgirl... but its the closest thing you guys will get to a REAL LIFE 'secret identity' programme with masks in...! Just think - at any moment when she was working in that cafe someone could have pulled her mask off and exposed her real identity! Hmmmm.. okay, maybe not! Just a pointer for all those into unmasking - this might tickle your fancy if it comes to a TV set near you. The BBC produced two programmes under the title of Trading Races, in which people of different skin colour get to swap places. Here's the catch... using make-up and masks they actually swap race too!!
