I said it in an earlier post, but until Red said it, I didn't realize that discussion was his main goal of this site. I, and others, usually don't get the same buzz from discussion as I do with a new scan, link, or movie, but I do enjoy it, and will happily try to encourage and stimulate discussions on this board, should it remain open. But honestly, the last thing I needed to read this morning was a reprimand from Fonzie. So I'm just going to ignore it, instead of responding, and I encourage others to do the same. I hate to say it, but I think both Red and Fonzie are guilty of having too much optimism in regards to participation. I'm all for being optimistic, but in this case I think it's a little unrealistic. I would be surprised if the contributor/lurker ratio for this group is worse than other groups; it's probably a lot better! There are PLENTY of Yahoo Groups with 1000's of members and only 3 contributors.
It's hard for me to comment on this, since I've never had a web site. Many years ago, when I was just getting on the internet and there were NO superheroine TF sites, I entertained the idea of learning html code and getting a scanner and starting one. I had a vision of seeing how many others liked this genre, exchanging ideas and finding out about other tfs I had missed. But I never did. I just never devoted the time and effort to getting one started.
