Posted by Mike 7 on August 17, 2001, 7:37 pm The actress who plays her on the show is a knockout, a real dark haired beauty. Recently she was unmasked in a flashback scene that was pretty hot. She was trapped in a collapsed mine with one of the series regular badguys, and the whole episode she was at risk of being unmasked! She makes it thru the show and the collapsed mine story with her mask entact (barely). But while in the mine with the badguy, she flashed back to another time when she WAS unmasked in a sword fight. It must have been excerpted from an earlier season because I never saw the original unmasking episode that was flashbacked to. This other guy (not the villain in the mine with her) was in a swordfight with her, clashing swords over her head and just overpowered her and quickly snatched the mask off her face with his hand! The shocked, wide eyed look on her face was priceless, as was his, to learn he knew her. As fate would have it in the script, that guy who unmasked her, though she cared for him, ended up dying (of course). A few other episodes have focused on her secret identity problems, like when she was seen thru a window removing her mask, or when she purposely unmasked herself to a dying man to get more info from him about her murdered father. (Like Batman and other heroes, a murdered parent motivates her to put on the mask and fight evil.) But it's a good show for anyone who enjoys a story with a heroine in a mask, who has the occasional identity problems. While this is not typical superheroine fare, and I like all the other comic book heroines too, but just wanted to recommend this to your readers, who may enjoy it. I enjoy the site very much. Thanks.
I don't know if the TV show, Queen of Swords, is very well known nationally, but she is basicly a female Zorro. She's not a comic book superhero, or she might be in comics by now, I don't know. But she's not the typical Batgirl, Wonder Woman type heroine.
